How to Increase traffic to your site

I have been reading that there are several techniques in gaining traffic to your site and I will discuss these now.

The first is to get an Alexa traffic ranking widget and place it on your pages. Alexa works mainly by visitors to your site who have the Alexa toolbar traffic indicator installed on their browser. Having the widget on your pages removes this need for the visitors to be actively participating in the program.

Once installed you will be sending traffic data from your site to Alexa.

I use a commonly used technique of having my splash page or website page rotating on traffic exchanges. This way I am getting targeted traffic to my page that has the widget installed. Therefore my traffic ranking is increasing exponentially with the amount of traffic I am getting.

This does several things for your site. One and most importantly with a high traffic ranking it places your page high on the traffic driectory where visitors feel more comfortable in reading your material. It sort of adds some autheniticty to your site.

Some may say this is exaggerating the traffic to your site but I believe it is good practice in promoting your site and thus reaping the rewards for your efforts.

Now I am not too sure if this is coincidence or not but when I installed the widget on one of my pages that was languishing on page 3 and 4 of Google it suddenly went to page 1. Thats right page 1 and was in position 7. In this position my traffic naturally went up through natural organic search.

The exchanges that I use are both new and old. My new and favorite traffic exchange is Grey Wolverine and I use this because it has the potential of building a downline that surfs for you and very entertaining with fantastic customer service.

The old established is Traffic Splash and this delivers the visitors in quick time and has a ten second timer to ensure the page fully loads.

Based upon what I have read and my own experience I beleive this is one of the fastest and legitimate ways to increase your Alexa traffic ranking and if I am right, a better search engine position.
